When did you come to Good Shepherd? Fall 2012

What do you love about your role here? I love discovering what makes each child tick. I love being part of starting Godly Play at Good Shepherd, and creating spaces where children can encounter God and express their experiences of God.

What schools have you attended since high school? Calvin College — B.A., English with a Writing Concentration; Secondary Education

In addition to the Bible, what books have influenced your thought? Cry, the Beloved Country by Alan Paton; The Divine Comedy by Dante; the Book of Common Prayer; A Slant of Sun by Beth Kephart; and the poems of Jane Kenyon.

deserted island, three albums: The Innocence Mission’s Glow, Andy Macdonald’s Be Still My Soul (a collection of hymns and Bob Dylan covers by my husband), and to counter such mellow selections, I have to agree with Kyle and choose U2’s Achtung Baby.

What do you do for fun? Explore local parks with the kids, walk in the evenings with my baby girl, discover new haunts in this city that’s still so new to us, enjoy leisurely dinners and long conversations with friends and family, watch and discuss movies and shows with Andy, read, write, sew.
